Super Bowl Sunday Beach Trash Report

Dateline: Super Bowl Sunday, February 5, 2017, along the shoreline of Santa Monica from the world famous Santa Monica Pier to Ocean Park and back... Here are the photos and videos that show the absolutely staggering amount of #beachtrash that remains along the water's edge that the City of Santa Monica has not bothered to clean up in over 24 hours and probably more like 48 hours...

Below, the same dead bird that we saw yesterday is still there!  Frankly, I am not surprised given that the City does not bother to clean up the #beachtrash along the water's edge either regularly and certainly not daily.

How much #beachtrash is there along the water's edge? So much #beachtrash you can put this bow on it!...

As our multiple audits over many months shows, the City of Santa Monica does not clean up the #beachtrash along the water's edge either daily or regularly and this is a responsibility that they are obligated to do on behalf of the State of California as the custodian of the State Beach in Santa Monica.  In my opinion, because the City continues to ignore the #beachtrash, the State of California should find another entity to do so.

Respectfully submitted,

William Maguire,
Santa Monica business owner
