Friday, Oct. 21, 2016: Santa Monica Beach Trash Report

Believe It!
Dateline: Friday morning, October 21, 2016 at approximately 9:30 a.m... we conduct our regular audit of the #beachtrash beside the Santa Monica Pier and walk down toward Bay St. and the Pico-Kenter storm drain to see if any of the #beachtrash has been picked up by the City of Santa Monica... The Answer:  Unfortunately, No!

Below, let's all thank the person who purchased this beverage from Steak & Shake on the Third St. Promenade and then walked all the way down to the beach to discard it... and where the City of Santa Monica doesn't bother to pick it up either...

Below, the empty discarded pack of MAVERICK® cigarettes remains on the beach uncollected and/or disposed of by the City of Santa Monica now for three weeks...

We've said it before and it still applies:  Stick a fork in it, this beach is #filthy!...

Honestly, I really wish the City of Santa Monica would do a butter job of cleaning up the #beachtrash by the water's edge...

Applying lipstick also will not clean up all the #beachtrash...

Too bad the City of Santa Monica's sanitation dept. doesn't have a "can" do attitude about hand picking up the #beachtrash...

Like I said, applying lipstick to this beach will not rid us of its #beachtrash...

*** It's beyond time for City Hall to take responsibility for its beaches and make sure that its staff is cleaning up the beach by the water's edge as the City of Santa Monica has stated that it is doing, which is obviously not the case.

Respectfully submitted,
